Relationships Take Work
Relationships take work, but they do not have to be hard and challenging.
Even in healthy relationships, people have to practice healthy communication and establish expectations. But in unhealthy relationships, even with healthy communication and expectation setting on one side, the other person may not be able to demonstrate healthy relationship behaviors. You have a choice on what you allow and for how long in your relationships. Before you throw in the throw, try communicating your needs and being open about what matters to you in a healthy relationship. If you already tried stating your expectations, perhaps it's time to consider what you are willing to accept and allow.
Remember: You cannot change people. You can ask that they honor your requests. And if they do not, you have choices.
