Being a Therapist (and human) Has Taught Me

  • Humans are complex

  • It is possible to listen to problems without offering a  solution

  • People want to be seen and hear without judgment from others

  • Experiences may be similar, but they are different

  • We have a lot of unlearning to do if we want to be well

  • Unintentional harm feels the same as being intentionally harmed

  • It's not my job to tell people whats a big deal for them or what’s not a big deal

  • People can change at any point in life. And for whatever reason they want to.It's okay not to have all the answers

  • Healthy people are people who are willing to evolve

  • It's not about you. People do things because of who they are, not because of who you are.
